A unique specialty
Dialysis is a unique specialty with intricate billing details that require extensive training and knowledge of billing regulations and available payment adjustments to maximize reimbursement. We have over 23 years of experience analyzing and interpreting the CMS (Centers for Medicare Services) final rule, negotiating contracts for dialysis programs, and fighting with payers to ensure our clients receive the maximum payment for the life sustaining services they provide to their patients.
Years of experience
During our 23 years of working in the renal industry, we have had the opportunity to provide services to dialysis programs that operate in a variety of settings, including hospital-based outpatient, free-standing dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, staff-assisted home hemodialysis and nursing home dialysis. Each of these settings comes with its own unique dynamics, challenges, and needs that we have experience handling. We enjoy sharing the knowledge we have gained in all these service settings with our clients.
Reporting that matters
All dialysis programs that bill Medicare are required to submit quarterly credit balance reports and annual cost reports. We assist dialysis programs with the submission of the credit balance reports and the collection of the billing data required for the Medicare Cost report.
As dialysis programs frequently evaluate costs and revenue on a per treatment basis, we have developed a suite of reports that provide reimbursement data using per treatment metrics.
Flexible to your needs
We are happy to have as much or as little contact as you prefer with the facility social worker to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the patients’ insurance information. One of the easiest denials to prevent is for billing the wrong insurance. We assist our clients with insurance information and communicate regarding authorization needs and requirements to ensure the revenue cycle runs as efficiently as possible.
